Tiki releases

STABLE - the current stable release

This is the current stable version. The 8.x Release features: New features Improved user interface Download Tiki 8.3 now. Important: Please read the Release Notes before installing.

LTS - the Long Term Support release

This is the "Long Term Support" (LTS) version. Although Tiki produces a new major release every six months, the 6.x Release is typically used for Enterprise deployments or other users that: Do not want frequent major upgrades (for example, if your environment requires software audits) Already have all the features they need in Tiki6 Want continued security updates Download Tiki 6.6 LTS now.

Stable LTS is expected to have minimal changes, no regression bugs, and little or no changes to Tiki behavior. This version is intended to be combined with an LTS environment (such as Ubuntu LTS). While this may indeed happen, the goal is not for 6.x to contain fewer bugs than 7.x (for example). Instead, the goal is for users of 6.x to have access to continued security fixes for an extended period of time without requiring upgrades. Security updates will be available for Stable LTS longer than for a normal "Stable" version. See Version lifecycle for detailed information.

Important
You should not expect:

• That 6.x LTS will be updated to work with newer PHP versions that were released after 3.x. For example, Tiki 6.x LTS may not work with PHP6.
• That bugs fixed in newer versions will be backported to Tiki 6.x LTS.
• That new features introduced in newer versions will be backported to Tiki 6.x LTS.

You can upgrade from Tiki 6.x to 8.x at any time. However, there is no downgrade path. Please make sure you make a backup of your database before an upgrade.

DEV - the cutting edge daily build

You can obtain the latest, pre-release, in-development versions (including the next-generation Tiki 9.0) by downloading pre-built tarballs (ZIP files) built every six hours. You can use these development versions for testing, to try out the latest Tiki features, or as a preview of what is coming in the next release. See Daily Build for more information. Alternatively, you can get the latest code directly from the SVN repository.

Important This development branch may not be considered stable or for production use.

Themes

The standard Tiki installation includes several themes (or skins) for your site. You can find additional custom Tiki themes at http://themes.tiki.org.

Microsoft Web Platform Installer

Tiki Wiki CMS Groupware is now included in the Windows Web App Gallery and can be installed with the Microsoft Web Platform Installer. To install Tiki from the Windows Web App Gallery, visit Microsoft Web Platform installer.

Live CD

The TikiLiveCD contains everything you need to boot your computer directly to a local Tiki installation. There is nothing additional to install. See TikiLiveCD for more information.
