Tiki releases

  • This is the current stable version, for users that want the latest and greatest and quick access to new features.
  • Tiki 14 marks further maturity and progress in use of the leading Bootstrap CSS framework in Tiki (the transition was planned to span two versions so this is the milestone 2nd version).
  • See all the enhancements since the previous version: Tiki14
  • Supported until the release of 15.0 (approximately Fall 2015)
  • Requires PHP 5.5

DEV - the cutting edge daily build

You can obtain the latest, pre-release, in-development versions by downloading pre-built tarballs (ZIP files) built every six hours. You can use these development versions for testing, to try out the latest Tiki features, or as a preview of what is coming in the next release.

See Daily Build for more information.

Alternatively, you can get the latest code directly from the SVN repository.

Information Important
This development branch is not considered stable or for production use.

12.4 LTS

  • This is the current "Long Term Support" (LTS) version, which is in "Regular support period" with bug fixes and minor, self-contained enhancements.
  • If you are new to Tiki and not sure which one to pick, pick this one if you need a rock-solid setup straight away and if you do not need responsive design. On the other hand, if you starting on a new project, we recommend starting with Tiki 14 and release your project when Tiki 15 will be released. The upgrade from Tiki 14 to Tiki 15 will be a relatively simple one.
  • See all the enhancements since the previous LTS: Tiki12, Tiki11 and Tiki10
  • Supported for 5 years, until 2018-12 (which is about the release of Tiki 22.1)
  • Requires PHP 5.3

  • The final version 13.2 of the Tiki 13 series was released on 23 May 2015. Users are recommended to upgrade to Tiki 14 as soon as possible, or if that is not possible at least to 13.2 in the interim (i.e. before Tiki 14.1 is released).

9.10 LTS (previous)

  • This is the previous "Long Term Support" (LTS) version with minor bug fixes and security fixes only.
  • If you are new to Tiki and not sure which one to pick, pick Tiki 12 LTS or Tiki 14. This version is for existing projects that do not want to upgrade to 12 LTS before the release of the responsive 15 LTS.
  • See all the enhancements since the previous LTS: Tiki9, Tiki8 and Tiki7
  • Supported until November 2015 (which is about the release of Tiki 16.1)
  • Current LTS available for easy install onto IIS via Microsoft's Web App Gallery
  • Requires PHP 5.2

Upgrades and patches

It is important to keep your Tiki up-to-date to take advantage of enhancements and fixes. Tiki will even tell you when new updates are available. With the Tiki all-in-one model, you don't have to worry about incompatible modules or add-ons.

Upgrades are easy! Here's how...

Tiki Themes

Beauty is only skin deep, right? With Tiki's use of CSS and Smarty templates, creating custom skins (or themes) is easy. If you see an especially good looking Tiki, be sure to nominate it to be a featured Tiki site.

The standard Tiki install includes several themes (or skins). The Tiki Themes Website contains even more.

Please mind that after Tiki 12.x the Themes system is in a process of transition, which means, that in Tiki 13 we changed to Twitter Bootstrap and from Tiki 14 we have a new directory structure related to themes, which allow "selfcontained themes" including all necessary and optional files like css files, js files, smarty templates, less files, images in one single subdirectory of the folder /themes.

Other ways to get Tiki

One-Click Script Managers and Remote Installers

Tiki auto-installers
Tiki is provided as a one-click install by most script managers (such as Installatron and Softaculous) and remote installers (such as SimpleScripts). These auto-installers are offered by nearly all web hosts and control panel (cPanel) applications, and make it easy to install and upgrade your Tiki.

See 1-Click Installers for more information.

Microsoft Web Platform Installer

To install Tiki from the Windows Web App Gallery, visit Microsoft Web Platform installer.

Tiki Wiki CMS Groupware is now included in the Windows Web App Gallery and can be installed with the Microsoft Web Platform Installer.

Download with wget

The URLs at SourceForge usually end with /download, which causes   wget   to use download as filename. For a more convenient download use syntax   wget --trust-server-names   to save with proper filename. More about this topic at http://sourceforge.net/p/forge/community-docs/downloading-via-cli/.

Live CD

Note: the live CD seems to be a bit outdated, sorry. We will try to get a new one wrapped together as soon as possible.
The TikiLiveCD contains everything you need to boot your computer directly to a local Tiki installation. There is nothing additional to install.
See TikiLiveCD for more information.
